AAA Sports Club has partnered with Irvine Chinese School to form a fun and educational chess class for beginner and intermediate players. Children ages 6-12 will learn the basic moves, opening and mid-game strategies, and the all-important end-game. Students will also learn about the history of chess, and study famous players and matches. Players will become familiar with chess terminology and score-sheet notation. Kids will play matches against each other, and experience playing against chess computers. All chess instructors have above a 1900 chess rating.
Our chess camp has open enrollment, but spots are limited. Classes are Wednesdays from 2pm-3:30pm, pricing and dates for the full Spring-term are below. Students required to bring a pencil, paper, and have a dedicated chess folder for the class. A $20 material fee is needed on the first day for a scholastic chess set (seen in the video above).
